Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. As a child, my family struggled. My mother was in and out of my life and I was virtually raised by my grandmother. Her strenght and perserverance to provide a good childhood for my brother and I have provided a solid foundation for me to strive and succeed in Massage Therapy. Hard work, honesty, integrity and determination are all values that have been instilled in me as a child, which I continue to hold very much of importance today. While growing up I and attending school, I was an average student. I was able to do just enough to pass. In high school, I had a very rough time and attended a very difficult school not to mention, not in such a good neighborhood. I was easily distracted and influenced. I began to get involved in drugs and started skipping school, which led to failing my classes and dropping out of school. Until, I attented Amerischools Academy Charter School and successfully graduated in 2001. Immediately after high school I began working at The Herberger Theater Center in the Box Office, Where I continued to work for the next five years. This experience was very self rewarding, I was able to interact with a wide variety of individuals both in the public and employees/cast. I was also able to attend many different live performances and also gain knowledge regarding the amount of work that is entailed in putting on a large production such as these. In February 2006, I obtained new employment, working for an independent ticket broker. The company sold a wide variety of tickets ranging from concerts to hotel rooms at Super Bowl time and at above face value. Eventhough, on the company phone system and website it clearly states "tickets are sold at above face value", many customers would become very irrate when they received their tickets. The customers would call and complain, this made me realize my calling. In approximately August 2006, I decided that I was going to attend Massage Therapy School. At that point in time, I really did not know where I was going to attend school. So, I researched and spoke to some individuals regarding the different school in the Valley of the Sun. Then, I went on a few tours of schools. After completing the tour at the Arizona School for Massage Therapy I was hooked. I had made my mind up, I was going there. The months to follow were the most agonizing months. I was screaming with anticipation. I wanted January 2007, to be there now. It seemed like an eternity for it to get here. I had just completed the first quarter of the program and had only twenty more weeks until I walked across the stage at graduation. The time since I started the program flew by and I was very eager to finish and start "healing the world one body at a time". |
